How to stay motivated in the gym!

Feeling motivated in the gym is an awesome feeling! It pushes you towards your fitness goals and paired with discipline, anything is possible. However, maybe you are not mentally or emotionally invested, maybe you are not motivated to do much in the gym or maybe you just finished your fitness goals and succeeded but have no further goals. There are a lot of reasons why one might get discouraged from getting and staying motivated and is it really that important? Or is having a goal and being disciplined enough? Regardless of your thought process regarding this, we still think that having motivation may just be that cherry on top to give you that extra rep, lift that much more and get you that much faster. There are a lot of different methods to keep the drive alive. Here are our 3 tips to getting and staying motivated in the gym.

  1. Find a training partner

Have you ever felt those days where you don’t feel like going to the gym or felt too exhausted to complete that last rep/set of your exercise? Well, a training partner could be that extra motivation for you to get rid of those feelings and be encouraged to have a successful workout at the gym. A training partner can be anyone from a friend or a person from work; as long as they have a similar desire to workout. Accountability is a major factor that training partners provide and it will help you stay motivated in the gym. For example, they can help you complete that last rep or set of your exercise that you don’t feel like doing by spotting and encouraging you. Also, it will just be more fun to have another person with you to struggle through exercises and see each other’s growth.

  1. Invest in a personal trainer

One great way to stay motivated in the gym is to invest towards a personal trainer. Here at the Markham gym, we will continue to motivate you, help you accomplish your fitness goals, create exercise and diet programs and make sure that it is sustainable for the rest of your life. 1. Track your progress

You may have come a long way and never gave yourself a pat on the back. Maybe you just need to look back and see the progress you’ve made. It will definitely put a smile on your face, and if it has not just yet, you should know that it will and everyday of committing to the gym will get you that much closer to where you want to be. Tracking progress through recording weight lifted, fat loss, taking pictures of yourself and even timing yourself for certain exercises will help you stay motivated.
